Tournament Application
JURISDICTION:
The AYSA has established the Arizona State Championships for competitive teams and has jurisdiction over the implementation of Rules & Regulations of the tournament.
A. The Tournament is open to all teams that are properly registered and rostered within Arizona Youth Soccer Association in the U11, U12, U13, U14, U15, U16, U17, U18, U19 age groups for boys & girls.
B. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to shorten games due to weather.
TEAM FORMATION:
The Arizona State Championship is open to premier level (tier 1) teams properly registered with the AYSA
ONLY
. Teams must not have more than
five (5)
transferred players on their roster. The roster is frozen ten (10) days prior to the “published” start date of an age group. The U11-U15 roster must demonstrate continuity of rosters between League and Cup play by maintaining a minimum of nine (9) players common to the rosters of both competitions. The U16-U18 roster must demonstrate contituity of rosters between League and Cup play by maintaining a minimum of eleven (11) players common to the rosters of both competitions.
A. League Qualification: Coaches are reminded that, with the exception of the U19 age group, a team is
required
to play in an AYSA sanctioned qualifying league
prior
to the beginning of competition. Requirements for the league qualification have to be in accordance with US Youth Soccer National Championship, Rule 221.
CREDENTIALS:
Player/coach passes, copies of birth documentation and
notarized
emergency medical authorization forms will be checked by the Credentials Committee prior to the start of competition. All coaches,
up to four (4)
, connected with the team and expected to be on the sideline are required to have a coaching pass and sideline credentials. The coaching pass must be laminated with a picture ID and on the team ring. Coaches without proper credentials will
NOT
be allowed on the sideline. TEAMS MAY BE ASSIGNED A DATE AND TIME FOR THE VERIFICATION PROCESS.
DEADLINES & FEES: ALL APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE STATE OFFICE,
IN PHOENIX
, BY THE LISTED DEADLINE OR THEY WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED! FAXED COPIES OF THE APPLICATION WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
All Tournament Fees and/or Late Fees must be paid within 10 days of submitting the application or the team will be withdrawn from competition.
U11
age groups will begin play
March 27
. - Player and Coach roster freeze March 17, 5 PM.
U12-U13
age groups will begin play
April 3
. - Player and Coach roster freeze March 24, 5 PM.
U14-U18
age groups will begin play
April 17
. - Player and Coach roster freeze April 7, 5 PM.
U19
age group will begin play on
May 22
. - Player and Coach roster freeze May 12, 5 PM.
There will be no games scheduled for Easter weekend. Dates may be adjusted based on the number of teams entered in an age group.
Applications that are received by
5 PM on Friday, January 30, 2009
, will require a fee of $850.00. This fee includes a $300 “volunteer” bond for the team. The bond will be returned if an individual(s) spends a minimum of 15 hours assisting with the administration of an AYSA run tournament.
(Volunteers can also work during the Open Cup tournament for the credit of hours.)
If not, the fee will be used to reimburse others who work the tournament.
Applications received after the listed deadline will require a LATE FEE. Final Deadline: February 6th (additional $500.00).
Applications
will not
be accepted after 5 PM, February 6, 2009, even if mailed by this deadline. The “draw” will be held on or about Sunday, February 22, 2009, time and location to be determined. A mandatory coaches/team managers meeting will also be held at the time of the draw.
U19 Applications are due by May 1, 2009. The U19 draw will take place on or about May 2nd, time and location to be determined.
WITHDRAWAL:
Teams that withdraw, in writing, from the tournament prior to the “draw”, will receive a full refund unless fees have been paid out for that team. Teams that withdraw after the “draw” will forfeit their entire fee. Clubs will be fined $300 if a team forfeits a game or drops out after competition begins.
FIELDS & START DATES:
Coaches are reminded that games could be played anywhere within Arizona.
Entire age groups could be playing at the same location even though a team may be scheduled against a team from their same city or area.
